My Sex Ed Experience:

The only formal sex ed I ever got was in middle school. My science teacher was very nervous and uncomfortable. All I remember is a video about the mechanics of conception from the 70s, a homophobic movie about AIDS that insinuated only promiscuous gay men get AIDS, and a pamphlet on masturbation. The class was a waste of time, taught me nothing I could use in real life, and spread misconceptions about AIDS.

Opinion on Sex Ed:

My friends and I didn't receive quality sex education in school. Though I didn't think it would affect us that much, I started to see the consequences when we reached adulthood. Now I know how important it is to get medically accurate information from trained professional, not just the gym teacher that pulled the short straw.
