My condom broke last night. What should I do?  If a condom breaks during sex play, there are usually two concerns: pregnancy and STDs (sexually transmitted diseases). If the concern is an STD, make an appointment at your local health center for an STD test.If you’re concerned about pregnancy, get Emergency Contraception (also called EC or “the morning-after pill”) at a pharmacy or health center near you.Plan B One-Step, Next Choice, or Ella are brands of EC that can be taken orally within 120 hours after unprotected sex and provide 75-89% emergency protection against pregnancy. Some people confuse the morning-after pill with the abortion pill, but they’re not the same thing. EC will NOT interfere with an already established pregnancy. It simply provides emergency birth control protection.EC is available over the counter for those age 17 and older. Females age 16 and younger require a prescription. Before you have sex again, review the proper steps to put on a condom and consider using generous amounts of water-based lubrication.
